The Petersburg City Council Advance scheduled for August 22 & 23 has been postponed. The Advance was going to be held at Fort Lee, but due to unforeseen circumstances on post, City leaders have determined that the Advance be moved to a later date for safety concerns.
Fort Lee is now under Bravo status. With COVID cases on the rise, all visitors to post are required to wear masks at all times unless eating. Also, under Bravo conditions, it may take longer for visitors to be screened and approved to enter the post.
At this late date and under City COVID requirements (masks worn inside at all times), conditions are not conducive for a two-day productive in-person meeting for Council members, City personnel or the public.
A new date for the Advance is not available at this time.
