Petersburg Comfort Station Opens for Winter Months
With temperatures falling, the City of Petersburg’s Comfort Station is now open through the end of the winter. The Petersburg Transit Station, located at 100 West Washington Street, serves as the City’s Comfort Station for city residents and is open from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday. The Transit Center is warm and restroom facilities and water are available.
Food and pets (except service animals) are not allowed. The doors to the Transit Center will be open on Washington Street and the Operations side (bus boarding area). Union Street doors are closed.
City residents can ride the bus free to the Transit Center, take some time to relax, stay warm, have some water, and then return home on the bus. Visitors to the Comfort Station should wear masks.
The City is also asking residents to check on their neighbors, especially senior citizens and people who have health problems during the cold weather. For emergencies, please call 911.
