Petersburg’s public swimming pool, located at 1216 Farmer Street, will open on Tuesday, June 18. The opening was delayed as it was discovered the pool pump was inoperable just before Memorial Day.
Beginning on June 18th through August 17th the pool will open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The pool will be open for weekends ONLY on August 24th & 25th, and the final weekend during the Labor Day holiday, August 31st - September 2nd, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The pool closes each day for a staff break from 3:00 - 4:00 pm.
Admission is free.
Parents or guardians (adults) must always accompany children 13 and under while at the pool. Other rules that must be observed include:
· No running. Children and adults can slip on wet surfaces and injure themselves.
· No diving. Even with experienced lifeguards on staff, diving can be dangerous. It can endanger other swimmers, and it could cause serious harm to the diver.
· Supervise children. Children under 13 years old should be always monitored by an adult.
· Toddlers must wear swim diapers.
· No pets are allowed in the pool or pool area.
· No glass bottles are allowed.
· No smoking.
· No weapons are allowed on the premises.
