Petersburg Real Property Tax Bills
Petersburg real estate property owners recently received their fourth-quarter tax bills. These bills include those sent to property owners who sold their property during Fiscal Year 2024. Approximately 500 mailed bills are incorrect. These bills were sent to the former property owners instead of the new property owners. Some bills also do not reflect a change in addresses.
This error occurred because Customer Care and Collection used an incorrect file instead of the updated correct file provided to that department by the Commissioner of the Revenue. New bills will be mailed on May 15 to those affected by the mistake. The fourth-quarter real estate tax bill is due on June 30, 2025. Please disregard the first real estate tax bill received and pay the second bill.

Additionally, customers can view and pay their bills online through the City’s payment portal: https://www.petersburg-va.com/Applications/cpage/Default.aspx?ctid=1.
