The Unity Fellowship Celebration will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the Petersburg Public Library. This is a signature gathering that seeks to bring together community leaders, faith partners, educational institutions, and residents in a spirit of collaboration, reflection, and forward progress. The Unity Fellowship Celebration is held in conjunction with the 2026 Black History Month Theme: “A Century of Black History Commemorations.” This historic theme marks 100 years of national observances recognizing the contributions, resilience, and legacy of African Americans.
The scriptural foundation for the service is Psalms 133: 1-3 - “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”
Virginia State University Alumni, Dr. John R. Faison, Sr., Senior Pastor of Walston Grove Baptist Church in Nashville, TN, will be the guest speaker, the VSU Gospel Chorale will be the musical guests, and the Zion Chester Praise Dancers will be the dance guests.
