[ARCHIVED] Parks and Leisure Services Kick-off Living Life Like Its Golden Senior Summer Program

The City’s Department of Parks and Leisure Services, in partnership with Tabernacle Baptist Church – George Crocker Senior Ministry offers a comprehensive Senior Citizen Program to improve the quality of life for residents ages 55 and over, the Living Life Like its Golden senior program. The summer session will begin June 22 through August 13 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday at Community Life Center (418 Halifax Street).

The summer session will feature a gardening program, line dancing, health/nutrition sessions, “Pamper Me” sessions, walking at the mall, movie tie, Saturday’s at the Farmer’s Market and a summer luau as the culminating event. In addition to the recreation programs, lunch and transportation is provided for all Petersburg senior residents. Regular activities are yearlong as well. Weekly activities include, Aerobics, Line Dancing, Golf, Tennis, Knitting, Movie Time, Pokeno, Guest Speakers, Nutrition Sessions, Arts & Craft, Bingo and Senior Choir.
