On Friday, September 11th, Historic Petersburg Foundation, Inc. and the City of Petersburg will honor local first responders on this Patriot Day with a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in the Petersburg Area Art League Art Park at 7 East Old Street.
We invite you to join us as we recognize the service of Major Bill Rohde, City of Petersburg Police Department, Battalion Chief Tommy Barrett, the City of Petersburg Fire Department, Bubby Bish, Southside Virginia Emergency Crew and First Sergeant Butch Downing, Virginia National Guard.
Patriot Day marks the anniversary of the nearly 3,000 people who died during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on America and the heroes who responded.
At this Patriot Day Ceremony, “A Tribute to All Brave Americans” will be given by 16th District Senator, Rosalyn Dance and “Praise to All First Responders will be given by 63rd House District Nominee Laschrese Aird.
To mark this occasion, limited edition commemorative coins are available for $20 each. The coins are numbered and measure 1 3/4 inch.
