Important Updates!

  • 07/09/2018 - 460 County Drive Update HERE

  • 07/02/2018 - View updated South Park Mall Route Schedule HERE

  • 06/18/2018 - Effective immediately the Walnut Hill and Mall Plaza routes will be combined until further notice. It will not service WalMart, but will service Battlefield Park and Oakhurst. View Schedule HERE.

  • 06/18/2018 - South Crater Road will service South Crater Rd. and WalMart, it will not service Battlefield Park or Oakhurst. 

  • 06/18/2018 - 460 County Drive will service Ettrick every 30 minutes and County Drive every hour. 

  • The Washington Street and Lee Avenue bus routes are combined until further notice. Washington St. will be serviced 15 minutes after the hour and Lee Avenue will be serviced 15 minutes to the hour. 

  • EFFECTIVE MARCH, 23, 2018: Richmond Express Route - Upon survey of ridership, the 11:15am trip and the Saturday trip are canceled. View Richmond Express Route Schedule HERE

  • EFFECTIVE APRIL 5, 2018: Amazon Route - PAT will discontinue service to the Amazon Distribution Center in Dinwiddie, Virginia

Community Connection

Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) is committed to improving the riding experience and availability of public transportation in the Southside region for local residents, businesses and visitors of Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights and the surrounding counties.  Petersburg Area Transit transports on average 57,000 passengers a month, aiming to connect people, jobs, and communities. PAT offers connections to downtown Richmond through GRTC and the greater United States via Greyhound from the Petersburg Multimodal Passenger Station.

Daily, Weekly and Monthly discount passes available at the following locations:

  • Petersburg Multimodal Passenger Station at 100 W. Washington St.
  • PAT Bus Maintenance Facility at 309 Fairgrounds Rd.
  • City of Petersburg Treasurer’s Office

Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) Title VI Program

The City of Petersburg, Virginia operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes she or he has been aggrieved by any unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with the City of Petersburg, Virginia.

  • A claimant may file directly with the Federal Transit Administration by filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights.
